Siddiqur will be sent abroad for treatment: Quader
Dhaka, 24 July, Abnews: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is concerned over Siddiqur Rahman, Minister Obaidul Quader said while visiting the student who sustained dangerous injuries to his eyes during police action on college students at Shahbagh.
 “The issue was discussed in today’s cabinet meeting and the Premier is deeply concerned over the matter” Quader said.
“If needed, Siddiqur will be taken abroad for better treatment,” he added. “We will also probe into the matter and see how a tear gas canister hit his eye.”
Siddiqur Rahman (22), a student of Government Titumir College lost vision in his right eye and has improper vision in the left after he was injured during a police-student clash.
On July 20, students of honors brought out a procession at Shahbag demanding announcement of dates and schedule for their exams. No examinations in honors were held after bringing these colleges under Dhaka University.
The affiliated colleges are - Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardi College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Begum Badrunnesa Govt. Women College, Mirpur Government Bangla College and Government Titumir College.
