Dhaka, 31 Jan, Abnews: The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations of 2018 are scheduled to begin across the country on Thursday.
The written examinations will continue until February 25 while the practical examinations will be held from February 26 to March 4.
Over 20.31 lakh students are set to sit for this years examination.
Moreover, 458 students will sit for the examinations from eight overseas centres as well.
The data was published by Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at a press briefing at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the government shut down all coaching centers across the country from Friday to prevent the incidents of question paper leakage.
Students will have to enter and take sits at their respective centres 30 minutes before the beginning of the tests. Envelope of question papers will not be unsealed before 30 minutes of the exams.
"If anybody violates this instruction, officials concerned will take instant action against the violators" Nahid said.
Teachers and officers would not be allowed to carry any mobile phone in the exam halls. Only centre secretary will allow carrying normal phone not smart phone, the minister said while talking to reporters.
Mobile court will be run during the SSC examinations, the secretary said adding that suspicious transaction through bKash will be monitored to prevent question leak.
