Dhaka, 4 May, Abnews: A high-profile delegation of representatives of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is visiting Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar on Friday.
A 53-member delegation of representatives of OIC-member countries arrived at Cox’s Bazar Airport around 8:45 am and went to a hotel in Inani.
Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Special Envoy to Myanmar Bob Rae, Canada's Special Envoy to the OIC Masud Husain, Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam are accompanying them.
The delegation will return to Dhaka in the afternoon to attend a dinner hosted by Mahmood Ali at the Sonargaon Hotel.
They will attend the 45th Session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers starting from tomorrow in the capital.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to open the two-day event at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital on Saturday morning.
The theme of this year’s council is ‘Islamic Values for Sustainable Peace, Solidarity and Development’.
