Dhaka, 12 May, Abnews: A severe gridlock on Dhaka-Chattogram highway for two consecutive days has created severe suffering for commuters using the route.
The long tailback ensued from Feni’s Fatehpur under construction railway overpass since Friday morning, which spread towards Dhaka till Chauddagram of Cumilla and towards Chattogram till Sitakunda.
The gridlock occurred till nearly 100 kilometers on both sides on Saturday.
Nazrul Islam, highway Superintendent of Police (SP) of Cumilla region, said the gridlock will continue until the railway overpass is completed at Fatehpur. Besides, the highway also is kept closed for passing 44 trains at the overpass every day.
He, however, hopes the sufferings of tailback will end before the Ramadan.
