Dhaka, 8 July, Abnews: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted separate drives against irregularities in three private hospitals in Chittagong city on Sunday.
The drives were conducted following different allegations of irregularities and public harassment in the private hospitals and clinics.
Separate mobile courts of the elite force started their operation at Max Hospital in Mehedibag area and Metropolitan Hospital at GEC intersection around 11 am, said Mimtanur Rahman, assistant director (media) of RAB-7.
RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwoer Alam led the inspection at Max Hospital while Dr Dewan Mahmud Mehedi Hasan was present as a representative from the Directorate General of Health Services.
The inspection will examine the chemicals at the biochemistry lab, medicines, the hospital’s documents and appointment letters for the staff, RAB official Mimtanur said.
“Max Hospital sends various disease samples outside Chattogram and abroad for tests which needs government. But they are doing so without any sort of approval,” the RAB official told the reporters during the drive.
